So, I did not expect to be able to run my own advance LLM AI on my PC

Things are moving fast
I am no code monkey, so for me to be able to install Llama 3 with 70 billion parameters, or gemma (the latest from Google DeepMind) on my home PC is astonishing.
What does this mean? Well, I no longer need the internet to connect to a huge source of intelligence.
My Own Personal AI
Human knowledge in my PC
If I survive Armageddon with these AI models installed on a laptop, I would have the knowledge to recreate almost every human invention.
This is because almost all of humanity's knowledge, up to 2021, can be computed by the AI in my palm. Helpful whilst living in the stone age (as long as the laptop is full charged!).
Implications of local AI for businesses
Back in the real world, the biggest advantage I see for locally stored AI is that I can it can work with my personal knowledge, or the most closely guarded Intellectual Property from my business, and I know it is safe.
In an age where almost all data sources are already being memorised by these new AI models I see this as critical for our adaptation to the future.
Having your own personal AI will become a life saver in the future. I will write more about this later.
