End of Google Search Dominance
Google search has been the king of search, and the internet, for 20+ years.
The phrase "Google it" has become common parlance.
To be found by new customers you needed to be visible for the relevant search on Google as it had 80-90% of the search market.
But is that all going to change with Ai?
Chat GPT and Search
Placing an AI chatbot in front of a search engine will improve user experience. And the better the chatbot the bigger the improvement.
Unfortunately for Google, they have been caught napping with their Ai augmented rollout of their search, which has allowed ChatGPT to steal a considerable march. ChatGPT has gained huge popularity and brand recognition.
The recent release of ChatGPT now combines arguable the best Ai service with the Bing search API, and I think that combiniation is superior to anything that Google has to offer.
Is Google's search domination coming to a end?

Google Censorship has damaged trust
For a long while I believe that Google was a force for good - they could be trusted.
That view has changed, and it appears that power they have had has corrupted their integrity.
Google has been suppressing searches on information they, or their cohorts, don't like.
Trust is hard earnt and easily lost.
Here is a website dedicated to unpicking just how bad they have become: https://americasdigitalshield.com/

Time to think more 'Bing'
I will be redirecting more effort on optimising my clients for Bing in the next 6 months.
And keeping a close eye on the Bing market share.
